50 shades of green. Like, greenest green, we’ve ever seen.
Our love for Bali lives in monsoon rains, landslides, generous people, and the fragile beauty of the ancient standing face to face with modern times.
We spent months on Bali. It took time to fall in love with it — especially after “Bali belly” almost took me out of life the day we arrived.
We learned the shortcuts through endless traffic and wandered for hours in the empty north. I lost count of how many times we visited Besakih, the eastern coast, and the black beaches.
We chased away demons during Nyepi, then hid from them in the dark. The view of Mount Agung from the rice fields or the shore of Nusa Dua became the symbol of my morning photo walks.
Bali, along with Thailand, is my safe place — a home away from home, the island of gods, rightly named so.
