Cambodia

In Phnom Penh we unknowingly ended up in the Red District. Our receptionist had a glass eye — we learned that only after he was attacked by a group of Indians who wanted to bring a prostitute into the hotel. That night we escaped to the Pink Elephant for a happy pizza, and barely found our way back.

Angkor Wat is still the most beautiful temple my eyes have ever seen. In the middle of wandering through its endless stones, a phone call cut us short and carried us away to Vietnam.

I still wait for the day we return to Cambodia’s red paths. We only scratched the surface of this fascinating country, but it left us with a lasting mark and unforgettable memories.

Locations visited: Phnom Penh, Angkor Wat, Siem Reap.
